The renowned trade magazine dedicates space to the eco-friendly solutions that Industrial Frigo Ice offers in view of the R-22 refrigerant phase-out.
Through the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, the international community has committed to a collaborative effort to regulate and phase out ozone-depleting substances. This is why the R-22 gas used in refrigeration equipment for ice rinks is being phased out. While in Europe the gas has been permanently banned for a few years now, in the US the ban on R-22 gas has been in effect since 1 January 2020. The ban has major implications for those companies facing a replacement or wholesale conversion of their equipment and since R22 is no longer produced, the price of gas reserves will be extremely high.
Industrial Frigo Ice has always placed great importance on the consequences of climate change and environmental policies. We firmly believe that sustainability is a strategic driver and at the same time an exceptional ally in the development of new technologies related to the ice rink sector.
Over the years, our company has embraced this vision, achieving important goals in building equipment and production facilities with a reduced environmental impact in terms of emissions and optimization of energy consumption.
In line with this vision, Industrial Frigo Ice offers assistance to all those who are facing the gradual phasing out of the refrigerant R-22, a gas considered a threat to the ozone layer that protects our planet. As a result of our commitment to assisting companies in retrofitting their R-22 systems, RINK Magazine, the trade magazine produced by the United States Ice Rink Association, dedicated a page to Industrial Frigo Ice, which can be viewed here: Rink Magazine April – March Issue
